A bit about us
Our founders bring experience from the AI research frontier and from building power tools for operations teams. Both love a good user experience, and love working to bring the research frontier of AI into the application layer.

Before founding Lorikeet, Steve led product teams at Stripe and Watershed in San Francisco, building tooling to enable complex processes like carbon accounting and financial reporting at scale.

Jamie was a research tech lead at Google Brain, leading research on factual grounding in large language. He was the third named author on Google's breakthrough 2022 LaMDA paper.

This is how we like to work
Our operating principles are fluid. They sometimes reflect how we work, how we work at our best, or how we aspire to work but don't always achieve.
We set an ambitious pace, and make it sustainable with ruthless focus.
This is most commonly a game of inches: small day-by-day decisions that compound into company-changing effects on velocity. We interrogate what matters most (starting with users) and focus on that.
We prioritise agency, empowerment, conviction, and accountability.
We act with agency, are empowered to own things, make high-conviction decisions, and take accountability for the outcomes. Change the things you want to change. You don’t need permission.

Lots of companies have a principle that the user comes first. We really mean it. We are playing a long-term game based on the idea that understanding our users and treating them well is the best path to win.
We are truly excellent to each other.
Being excellent to each other is unusually important to Lorikeet. We will not tolerate “brilliant jerks” (or just jerks). If you want to work with us, be prepared to treat your colleagues excellently; they'll do the same.
We put a premium on clear, efficient and thoughtful communication.
We are building Lorikeet globally to support our widespread subscribers and take advantage of diverse talent and experience. Being exceptional at operating as a multi-geo, multi-timezone team is a core success factor for us.
