Key Points

  • OpenAI releases GPT-4.1 models with enhanced capabilities for business applications and improved pricing.

  • The GPT-4.1 series features an expanded context window supporting up to one million tokens, aiding large-scale data analysis.

  • New pricing structure includes a 26% decrease compared to GPT-4o, with varying costs for different models.

OpenAI has announced the release of its latest AI models—GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 Mini, and GPT-4.1 Nano—which come with enhanced capabilities tailored for business applications and more attractive pricing.

Next-level number-crunching: One notable feature of the GPT-4.1 series is the expanded context window, now supporting up to one million tokens. This enhancement allows the models to process and analyze extensive documents or datasets more effectively, benefiting businesses that handle large-scale data analysis and complex document processing.

Sharper pricing: With competition in the space intensifying, OpenAI has also implemented a more attractive pricing structure, including a 26% decrease compared to GPT-4o. The pricing for the different models is as follows:

  • GPT-4.1: $2.00 per million input tokens and $8.00 per million output tokens.

  • GPT-4.1 Mini: $0.40 per million input tokens and $1.60 per million output tokens.

  • GPT-4.1 Nano: $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.40 per million output tokens.

  • SWEet Upgrade: In terms of coding proficiency, OpenAI says GPT-4.1 demonstrates notable improvements, surpassing previous versions in achieving a 54.6% win rate on the SWE-Bench coding benchmark.
